| Opinion Type: The opinions are either Formal or Informal. There are under 200 Formal Opinions and over 1200 Informal Opinions. You may enter Formal or Informal in "Opinion Type" to limit the search to either Formal or Informal Opinions. Leave "Opinion Type" on "All" to retrieve both types of opinions. |
| Opinion Number: Formal Opinions are numbered from 1 to about 200, although about 120 have been withdrawn. (Example: 45)
Informal Opinions are numbered from 800 to 2xxx. User may type the number of the desired Informal Opinion. (Example: 1234) |
| Year Issued: User can type in any 4 number year. (Example: 1999) |
| RPC or other authority: Rules of Professional Conduct or other authority, such as RCW or Formal Opinion number, referenced in the opinion. User can type an RPC number or Formal Opinion number. (Example: 1.5) |
Keywords: The text of the informal opinion approved by the RPC committee. User can type in any text and a wildcard search will be performed. Search words entered will query text from both Subject and Opinion
fields. (Example: conflict of interest)
Note – searches of the same keyword in the subject and informal opinion fields may yield different results, try both. |
